Tips
Open the parent area
On Home, press and hold the grown-ups button at the top right for a second. Then answer the question for grown-ups, like “what is seven times eight?”, on the number pad and tap OK. After three wrong answers it closes.
Add a child
In the parent area, open Settings › Add a child, pick an animal and add a nickname if you like. Up to 3 children can play, each with their own progress. To switch, your child taps their animal at the top left of Home.
Restore the unlock
On a new device, or after reinstalling, open the parent area › Unlock › Restore purchase, signed in with the Apple Account that bought it. With Family Sharing, family members can restore it on their devices too.
Reset progress
In Settings, tap the child, then Reset progress. After two checks, their stars, stickers, tile designs and answer history go back to the start. This can't be undone.
Daily play limit
In Settings, choose Off, or 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes a day for each child. A moon appears a minute before time's up, and the limit resets at midnight. To add 10 minutes, hold the grown-ups button on the Time's Up screen.
Sound and voice
Settings has separate switches for music, sound effects and the voice. The sound button on the pause screen turns off music and sound effects but keeps the voice, which children who can't read yet need. The voice plays even when your iPhone is on silent.
Reduce motion
Turn on Reduce motion in Settings for slower tiles and fewer particles. It's always on when Reduce Motion is on in iOS Settings.
VoiceOver
With VoiceOver on, the sum on Pip's board is read out, and each falling tile is a button named by its number, so a helper can play along.
Questions
Why is a level locked?
A padlock means the level needs the unlock. Pip never asks your child to buy it; they can tap the arrow and keep playing the free levels. To unlock everything, hold the grown-ups button on that screen and answer the question.
Can my child play the levels in any order?
Yes. Turn on Open all levels in Settings. Levels that need the unlock keep their padlock.
How do I delete a child?
In Settings, tap the child, then Delete child. Their stars, stickers and progress on this device are removed, and this can't be undone. It's there when you have 2 or 3 children; to remove everything, delete the app.
Restore says no earlier purchase was found
Check that the device is online and signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account that bought the unlock, then try again. If your family uses Ask to Buy, everything unlocks once the purchase is approved.
Does it work without the internet?
Yes. Everything works offline except buying or restoring the unlock.
What does Wombat Sums do with my child's data?
Nothing leaves the device. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and profiles and progress stay on your iPhone or iPad. Read the privacy policy.
