ScreenOff Player

Privacy policy

Effective date: 3 October 2026

In short: ScreenOff has no accounts, no analytics and no servers of its own, and we never receive your browsing. The free version shows ads from Google, and Google's advertising software in the app collects some data, described below. If you buy ScreenOff Pro, that software never starts.

Who we are

ScreenOff Player (“ScreenOff”, “the app”) is made by Australian Apps Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the app handles and who receives it.

What stays on your device

The app keeps the following on your iPhone or iPad only. We never receive any of it.

If you back up your device to iCloud or a computer, this data can be included in that backup; your backup settings control that.

What we don't collect

We don't run accounts, analytics, crash reporting or servers of our own. The app doesn't ask for your name, email address, contacts or location, and websites that ask for your camera or microphone are refused.

If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. Apple's Privacy Policy applies to those.

Websites and search

When you open a web page, the app loads it straight from that website, like any browser. Websites, and the services they use, may collect information under their own privacy policies. A search you type goes straight to the search engine you chose in Settings. When you add a shortcut or bookmark, the app asks that website for its icon. None of this passes through us.

Advertising in the free version: Google

The free version shows one banner ad, at the bottom of Home and of the Library, from Google AdMob. It uses two pieces of Google software: the Google Mobile Ads SDK, which shows the ads, and the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK, which asks for your consent where that's required. If you buy ScreenOff Pro, the app doesn't start either of them.

According to Google's current data disclosure for the Google Mobile Ads SDK for iOS, the ads SDK may collect:

Google may use this data to show and measure ads, for analytics, and to improve its products. The consent SDK may use your approximate location (from your IP address), performance data and product interaction to show the right consent message for where you are. Google may process this data on servers in other countries, including the United States.

Google handles this data under its own privacy policy. Any third party we share user data with must protect it at least as well as this policy describes. To learn more, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.

Tracking and your choices

Purchases: Apple

ScreenOff Pro is a one-time purchase through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your payment details or your Apple Account. The app checks your purchase on the device with Apple's StoreKit. Apple's Privacy Policy applies to purchases.

Children

ScreenOff is a general web browser and isn't directed at children. We collect no personal information ourselves. Ads in the app are limited to Google's general and parental-guidance content ratings.

Keeping and deleting your data

We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing on our side to delete. If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply, and we delete them on request.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to complain to a privacy regulator. Contact us with any question, and we'll help.

Australian Privacy Principles

We've written this policy with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) in mind, and we handle any personal information you send us, such as an email, as this policy describes. If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, email us first. If you're not satisfied with our response, or you haven't heard back within 30 days, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change, we'll update this page and its effective date.
